Kilometres for Kids

On Monday, August 31, 2009, Rodney Stafford arrived in Winnipeg. Father to Victoria (Tori) Stafford, an eight-year-old girl who was abducted from Woodstock, Ontario and subsequently found murdered earlier this year, Rodney is cycling from Woodstock to Edmonton, Alberta as a tribute to his daughter. His hope is that his journey, called Kilometres for Kids, will honour his daughter's memory as well raise awareness on missing children. He has directed that all donations and pledges made to Kilometres for Kids go to Child Find.

Arriving in Winnipeg, Rodney was met by members of the Winnipeg Police Service Bike Patrol Unit, traffic services and the Cops for Kids Bicycle Relay Team and escorted to the Inn at the Forks, where he met with media and supporters.

On Tuesday, September 1, those wishing to support Rodney and the Kilometres for Kids initiative are encouraged to visit Wal-Mart (1665 Kenaston Blvd.) where Rodney will be on hand, collecting donations and spreading his message.

Donations to Kilometres for Kids can be made to: TD/Canada Trust, Branch #227, Account #521-0920.
