BECOME A VOLUNTEER
Thank you for your interest in volunteer opportunities with Child Find Manitoba. Volunteers are paramount to the success of Child Find Manitoba's programs. With approximately 150 volunteers throughout the province, Child Find is always looking for the necessary support to carry out vital programs and services to the community.
Steps to Become a Child Find Manitoba (CFM) Volunteer:
-
Fill out an application
All volunteers must first fill out an application form expressing interest in volunteering. You can either call Child Find, leaving us your name and mailing address,
apply online, or stop by our office to pick up an application form.
-
Screening Process
Once Child Find Manitoba receives your application, our office will contact you to come into our main office for an intake with the Volunteer and Community Relations Coordinator. During
the intake volunteer opportunities will be discussed.
You will be asked to fill out the following forms during your intake:
- Criminal Records Search
- Vulnerable Sector Search
- Criminal Record Search Certificate Waiver
- Child Abuse Registry Check
There is no charge to the volunteer for these checks to be completed. Please bring two pieces of identification to the intake. It is mandatory to present photo identification such as a
driver's license or passport, as well as another piece of identification such as a birth certificate, Manitoba health card, or SIN card.
After the intake Child Find Manitoba will contact your references.
-
Volunteer Orientation
After your record checks are sent, you are asked to attend a 2-hour volunteer orientation.
In this session, you learn all about Child Find Manitoba and the various programs that require volunteer support. It is up to you to determine both your areas of interest in
volunteering as well as the number of hours you would like to dedicate to supporting the organization.
Once your record checks and orientation are complete, you are now a Child Find Manitoba volunteer. Welcome!
